Javed hits a ton in Phase 2 tourney

JEDDAH — Akram Javed of Marine Services hit ton in the first two weeks’ hostilities at the WPCA Grounds with ALS Warriors, Thales Group, Alhamrani Fuchs, Marine Services, Aftab CC and Stallions emerging winners in the Phase 2 Tournament which is sponsored, organized and managed by WPCA.

In the first match of the day, ALS Warriors defeated Aftab by 22 runs. ALS Warriors amassed 188-7. Talha stroked 60 in 35 balls as he added 80 with Gulam Mustafa (31). Abdullah Essa contributed 25 in 11 balls with 2 sixes and a four. Shoaib Ali hit 13, Safiuddin an unbeaten 14 and Ramzan 12. Danish took 2-33, Waqas 2-41 and Aftab 2-44. Aftab CC was stranded at 166-8. Aftab Riaz scored 23, Shahid Sattar 24, Malik Amjad 21. Danish Hanif top scored with 62. Safiuddin grabbed 3-32, Gulam Mustafa 2-23 and Shoaib Ali 2-38.

Thales Group thrashed Al-Hukma International by all 10 wickets. Al-Hukma International was bundled out for just 114. Mahmoud Tahir stroked 10, Mohsin 11, Abdulwahab 15, Farhan 22 and Salman 24. Mohammed took 2-21 and Ali 2-27. Thales Group, in chase, reached 116 for no loss in 70 balls. Abdulwasay hammered an unbeaten 49 in 29 balls. He added a match-winning 116 in 70 balls for the unbroken opening stand with Kausar, who remained unbeaten on 52 off 27 balls.

Alhamrani Fuchs defeated Timex Lothers by 9 wickets. Timex Lothers posted 153-7. Khurram Azeez top scored with 78 in 42 balls, He added 50 with Shibu (21). Shamsu (11), Mushtaq (10) and Asif 10 were the other scorers. Mohsin took 3-24 and Irfan Anjum 2-24. Alhamrani Fuchs reached 155 for 1 in 80 balls. Abdulghafour hammered an unbeaten 57 in 30 balls to add a match-winning 138 runs for the unbroken second wicket with Zeeshan who smashed an unbeaten 70 in 33 balls.

Aftab CC trounced Contraco by 7 wickets. Contraco was bowled out for 130. Saqib hit 32, Abbas 29 and Waheed 10. Waqas grabbed 4-18, Yasir Ali 3-3, Aftab 2-29. Aftab CC got to 132-3 in 57 balls. Waqas Riyaz hammered 80 in just 24 balls as he added 100 in just 37 balls for the first wicket with Nouman Ali (17). Amjad Malik contributed 10. Saqib scalped 2-26.

Thales Group prevailed over Jotun Penguins by 8 wickets. Jotun Penguins was restricted to 156. Ehtesham top scored with 53 in 34 balls, Shabbir 26, Siddique 10, Shafeeq 15 and Jameel unbeaten 13. Kausar took 4-19. Thales Group, in chase, made 160-2 in 91 balls. Kausar remained unbeaten on 65 off 44 balls as he first added 74 with Abdulwasay (39) and then 64 with Yasir Jawed 38. Jameel took 2-24.

Marine Services had the better of Al-Hukma International by 47 runs. Marine Services amassed 201-3. Akram remained unbeaten on 107 off 40 balls studded with 6 sixes and 8 fours. He added a match-winning 76 with Sohail (23) after Umair made 34, Naseer 22 and Shakeel an unbeaten 11. Salman grabbed 2-57. Al-Hukma International, in reply, was bowled out for 154. Farhan top scored with 65 in 37 balls, Arif 21 and Irfan unbeaten 27. Ghulam bowled devastatingly to grab 5-25 and Yaseen 3-26.

Stallions beat IDB Group by 17 runs. Stallions plundered 209-6. Abdulrehman smashed 70 in 32 balls to add 70 with Hassan Ali 21. Azeem made 20. Abdul Basit remained unbeaten 35, Aqeel 27 and Asim Hafeez unbeaten 26. Abdullah Shah grabbed 3 for 38 and Mohammed 2-54. IDB Group was stranded at 192-5. Mohammed Farook scored 61 with 7 fours as he added 89 in 43 balls with Saim Sherwani (12) after healthy start by Noor Butt 27 and Arif Nazeer 24. Nasir stroked 45 and Hashim Khan unbeaten 22. Umar took 2-29.

Alhamrani Fuchs trounced AOT by 9 wickets. AOT posted 163-9 Ilyas Lashi hammered 50 in 27 balls as he stitched 65 with Ghulam Abbas (8). Rafeeq stroked 36, Qaiser Lateef 14 and Rameez 17. Mohsin scalped 2-43, Sajid 2-27 and Ali 2-31 Alhamrani Fuchs chased the victory target of 168 for 1. Irfan Anjum remained unbeaten on 71 off 34 balls with 5 sixes and 5 fours as he first added 84 with Ghafour who made 53 in 30 balls and then 84 with Zeeshan 39.
