Riyadh — In the spirit of stirring up a thriving sports culture, the Saudi General Sports Authority announced that it will hold the 1st Riyadh International Marathon on Feb. 24.
The Riyadh Marathon will have three race categories: Professional Race (21 km), Amateur Race (8 km), and Fun Race (4 km). Those intending to participate in the professional race must be 14 years of age or above. There is no age limit for the amateur and fun race categories in which special need athletes can also take part.
In each race category 10 people will receive prizes, which will be distributed the same day in the evening.
All participants will receive a medal.
It will be men only event.
Upon registration, participants will receive an email with all information needed to complete activation. They will also need to be at the start points at least one hour before their race begins.
The GSA’s vision is to establish a professional and supportive environment for athletic, fitness and health-minded citizens by building sports grounds/fields across the Kingdom and organizing sporting events for their benefit.
