JEDDAH
— Do not wait for your building watchman to deliver the electricity bill and also not be worried if you haven’t received your electric bill for the current month. It is not because your electricity line has been disconnected. Subscribers in the Kingdom will not be receiving their electric bills on paper as the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has stopped printing and distributing paper bills.

Now all bills will be paperless and transformed into digitization by SEC, billing information is accessible through all major modules of online platforms, such as SMS, email, mobile apps or online at www.se.com.sa.

Customers can register or update their contact details, mobile number and email address at SEC website www.se.com.sa, by calling on 920001100 or visiting any of social media platforms including whatsapp number 0533991100, Twitter (@alkahrabafriend) and also other Twitter account (@alkahrabacare) and SMS (500120) on all mobile operators in the Kingdom.

Already some millions of subscribers have registered on the electronic channels. Not only big cities such as Jeddah, Riyadh or Dammam but interior provinces of Al-Baha and Al-Jouf stood top in Google search to find out about new electricity bills, according to a report.

However, bills were not uploaded on Jan. 28 with revised tariff and including VAT as it was scheduled for various reasons mainly due to calculation mechanism in different provinces.

Also SEC is now mentioning Gregorian calendar dates along with Hijri, to have an idea about the duration.

It is set to issue from next month details of old and new tariffs in the bills.

The electronic bill is convenient for customers, cost effective as it saves approximately SR10 million a month for printing and distribution, besides contributing to environmental-friendly action.
