RIYADH - The coalition forces supporting legitimacy in Yemen welcomed any international efforts to bring about peace in Yemen.
Col. Turki Al-Malki, spokesman of the coalition, said in a press conference in Riyadh on Monday that such moves are fully in accordance with the principles of the coalition countries, which are committed to stand by the Yemeni people militarily and on humanitarian grounds.
He said that the comprehensive humanitarian operations in Yemen are proceeding according to the plan.
“Three new initiatives related to the humanitarian work in the Yemeni territories will be signed on Tuesday and the coalition is looking forward to clinching more partnerships with various international organizations related to the work of relief and rehabilitation of infrastructure and humanitarian efforts,” he said.
Al-Malki revealed that 544,037 Yemeni citizens have benefited from the humanitarian assistance since the start of the comprehensive humanitarian operations, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
In a video presentation, the coalition spokesman reviewed images of humanitarian operations that reached the needy Yemeni families throughout the country, especially families living in regions still under the control of the Iranian-backed Houthi militias.
Al-Malki cited the progress and victories achieved by the Yemeni army on a daily basis and that led to the liberation of a number of positions in the governorates of Taiz, Saada, Al-Baidha, Dali and the northern part of the capital of Sana'a.
