Art brings out the best in everyone, and it is a source to bring calm and savor the colors in life. It encourages children to think colorfully, develop skills and confidence as they go about in life. As part of 70 years of Independence, Indian Consulate is focusing on the features of each state every month, and last month they marked Telengana Day. Telangana is a state in southern India with Hyderabad as its capital. The Consulate General celebrated Telangana Day through art, display of culture, movies and various other programs. One of the corner was especially dedicated to kids to relax and play with colors.

The event was inaugurated by Consul General of India Md. Noor Rahman Sheikh. Advisory board members Hassan Bayazid, Shamim Kausur, Coordinator Imran Kausar and Head of the Project Rasheed Usmani were present. In the two-day event, more than 500 students participated in different activities. Kids unleashed their talents in the Drawing Competition, used their intellect in Telangana Quizzes and displayed their stamina in Lemon Spoon Race.

Indian International School, Jedddah, (IISJ), Delhi Public School (DPs), Novel International School, Hala International School, Wurood and many other schools in Jeddah participated in the event with enthusiasm. Every child was excited and were on cloud nine in being part of the Kids’ Corner.

The CG praised and encouraged the kids who participated in the event. He appreciated the organizers and remarked it as an excellent program to nourish talents. He promised to organize the same event in the forthcoming Independence Day and the Republic Day.

Usmani said, “My vision and passion is to explore the hidden talents of kids, apart from their academic activities and extra curriculum and through this corner I’ve brought color to many children’s lives. This time the event was under the aegis of the Consul General Sheikh, who appreciated the activities of the corner, and we put in our best efforts to make this event successful.”
