JEDDAH — Defending champion RTJ Transient House is threatening another run for the championship when it sealed its second back-to-back Team of the Week victories during the sixth session in the OFBC (Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club) Friday Afternoon League Season 8 at the Iceland Bowling Center.

This feat that duplicated RTJ’s back-to-back wins to start the season was even better — it was made with the highest total thus far at 31 points and on the opposite lane of another contender for the title, Casadores, who tallied 27 points to rank second on the day.

Also, Rico Bulalayao claimed the men’s Bowler of the Week award for an RTJ double with Farida de Guzman providing an answer for Casadores in the individual race by winning the same award on the ladies division.

Lucky Ones compiled 21 points in third position followed by Young Once 20, Spareshots 19 and Crime Busters 14 points. SGH Bowling Group and Forever Living finished with 8 and 4 points, respectively.

Rico, a Class B bowler, rolled the high series of 584 at the helm of RTJ with team captain Joel Nidoy just at his back on 583. Darlene Bulalayao, the 2017 Bowler of the Year Finals winner along with Joel, added 516 while team manager Rudy Jamon and Malou Nidoy completed the scoring on 526 and 451.

Along with Farida, who carded 51, taking charge at Casadores were Ed Cordova 551 and skipper Tope Sayson who shot 525. Conrad Baltazar came through with 509 and Ed Labuac had 503.

For Lucky Ones it was team captain Edwin Agustin and Roel Osman who carried most of the load with rounds of 531 and 525. Johara Palot posted 483, Cesar Pagtalunan tossed in 486 and Noli de Leon made 479 in the Lucky Ones five-man team rotation.

Young Once had the duo of Jaime Flores and Demet Velasquez leading the way on 545 and 515.

Danny Atubang was a few pins short of 500-series on 491 while leading the Spareshots that also drew 493 from Carmen Duma, 489 from Jose Antonio Bayag Jr., 481 from Jon Belo and 448 from Sergio Modar.

Team standings (Week 6):

1. RTJ Transient House 159.5 points, 2. Casadores 142, 3. Crime Busters 129, 4. Spareshots 124, 5. Young Once 100.5, 6. Lucky Ones 100, 7. SGH Bowling Grup 73, 8. Forever Living 36.
