Riyadh — A Royal approval has been given for the public-private sector partnership in the health sector.

This is part of a number of decisions of the Saudi Health Council approved by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.

The decisions include the issuance of visas for foreign scientists and experts in line with an earlier ruling of the Council of Ministers.

The Kingdom will benefit from expertise of these scientists and experts through research programs.

The approval also includes employing doctors accepted in the Saudi Fellowship Programs.

Vacancies for doctors below the consultant levels will be created by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

All health facilities in the Kingdom should periodically report to the Saudi Cancer Registry all diagnosed cancer cases, those under treatment and deaths resulting from cancer.

This will help laying down the necessary health policies to deal with cancer.

There should be a database for cancer cases receiving treatment in hospitals.

The King also approved nominating a member from each sector to the technical committee to facilitate and coordinate with the World Health Organization (WHO).

Secretary General of the Saudi Health Council Dr. Ahmed Bin Muhammad Al-Amri thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for issuing a royal approval for these decisions of the Council.

He said the approval of these decisions reflect the care and attention of the King and the Crown Prince for the health sector.
