February 19, 2018

JEDDAH — The 7th Annual Gulf Education Conference and Exhibition featuring two days of robust speeches, rousing moments and profound reassurance from the stakeholders to take forward Saudi Arabia’s Education Vision 2030 begins today.

The University of Business and Technology (UBT), Jeddah is hosting the event wherein more than 25,000 people are expected to participate. Apart from many leading academics, ministers, private sector representatives, top corporate sector executives, some 150 exhibitors and sponsors including some big names in the education sector are registered for the event.

“The conference will help develop education in a variety of fields, and encourage scientific and research partnerships with international universities inside and outside the Kingdom,” Council of Saudi Chambers Secretary-General Dr. Saud Al-Mishari who is also a likely participant, said.

The conference and its associated exhibition have become one of the most important education forums in the region.

The event is being held this year under the patronage of Education Minister Ahmed Al-Issa. Education policymakers and experts, as well as students and parents, will be among the visitors.

“It will provide delegates with the most up-to-date information available about the realities of investing in and partnering with Saudi education institutions,” Farooq Shah, Media and Communications officer, Gulf Conferences told Saudi Gazette. “Expert speakers on every element of what is required by the Saudi education system, what projects are in place already and what needs to be done for the success of Vision 2030 would be dealt with threadbare,” he said.

Shah said the Conference is a key event for universities looking to increase their admission rates, directly meet with students and their parents besides government representatives to establish a relationship for opportunities in enrollment.

“The Conference would enable a student find the right educational institution for himself by meeting the senior leaders of some 40+ universities from across the globe,” Shah said. — SG
