Imtiaz Ali and Ekta Kapoor are teaming up to retell the evergreen tale of Laila Majnu. The director and producer are going to launch a set of newcomers with a contemporary version of the love story, Bombay Times reported. Imtiaz’s brother Sajid Ali will make his directorial debut with this film, with a script written by Imtiaz himself.

While the trailer of the film is recieving good reviews, almost everybody after watching it is drawing parallels with 2016 Indian flick ‘Kapoor & Sons’ starring Sidharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan, Alia Bhatt. Cake’ revolves around the theme of family drama and estranged relationships. The movie is set to release on March 30, 2018.

Filmmaker Karan Johar, actor Varun Dhawan and director Shashank Khaitan revealed that they had a special announcement to make. Staying true to their word, the three took to their respective social media handles and shared that they will be coming together for another film. The next project is titled ‚“Rannbhoomi” and more details are yet to be finalized. Shashank has previously directed Varun in two films for Karan”s production house ‚Äì ‚“Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania” and ‚“Badrinath Ki Dulhania”; and is currently filming Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer ‚“Dhadak”.

‚“Rannbhoomi” is expected to be a war film and scheduled for a Diwali release in 2020.
