MBS in '60 Minutes'

IN a special interview Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman had told some of my colleagues that only death would stop him from working to realize his ambitions for his country and people. High Highness repeated the same words in the “60 Minutes” show when the interlocutor asked him what could possibly stop him from bringing about the reformation that he envisioned in his country at this young age.

The prince emphatically said he was dedicating his life for one reason, which is to serve this country and its people. The interview ended at 5 a.m. in his house, specifically his office in the house, while he had to prepare for a ministerial meeting to discuss the budget at 8 a.m. the same day. In fact, he had come for the interview from another meeting, which was with the King.

Apparently, the prince has been working hard with very little rest. He doesn't take time off for personal chores as he has been devoting all his time and energy for the good of this nation. It left me thinking of the importance of having an efficient team of executives who are willing to work with same professionalism, speed and dynamism of the crown prince and the ability to translate his aspirations into realities on the ground in order to lessen the burden on his shoulders. Actually, the prince is not only working for reforms and change, but he is also reformulating the present and redrawing the future.

Therein lies the importance of not letting down one of his objectives that the Saudi Arabia of the future will only be run by people who are truly efficient and qualified.

I have been regularly watching the CBS show “60 Minutes” since long time ago. It is one of the great American television debates with a huge viewership, and I am sure many Americans were eager not only to meet the young prince who came from the desert, but also to meet the future Saudi Arabia.
