April 02, 2018

JEDDAH — A perfect synergy of arts and science was witnessed in the recently-organized exhibition in the Pakistan International School Jeddah – English Section campus.

The exhibition was an amalgamation of arts and science with beautiful shades of Pakistan. This unique merger not only created an aura of patriotism towards the motherland, but also rejuvenated the resolve to strengthen the nationalistic ties of ‘Unity, Faith and Discipline’ through education towards the country, Pakistan.

Students’ enthusiastic participation was commendable as all the projects were skillfully prepared while keeping the scientific credentials with due aesthetic merits.

While appreciating the effort of students and faculty members, Principal Adnan Nasir said, “Our students have truly manifested that with high ambitions, clear vision, winsome character and passionate conviction, everything is possible. The artistry with which such a wide range of creative ideas has been presented validates that the future architects of our country are mature enough to recognize their responsibilities towards the nation in order to create a harmoniously connected world.”

He added, “The idea behind linking this exhibition with Pakistan Resolution Day was also to make our students reiterate the timeless ideologies of our forefathers to focus their aspirations towards making our homeland as one of the most prosperous countries of the world.

“While cherishing individuality, the importance of independence must be kept close to the heart to learn from our splendid history and rich culture. By demonstrating the interaction between ‘education and patriotism’, our students have proved that we can establish the absolute purpose of our existence in all aspects – social, ethical, moral, educational and religious while upholding our connection with our roots.”

The exhibition was attended by a large number of community members. Every nook and cranny of the school was reflecting the diversity of Pakistan and each project was the out-and-out display of the ‘art of science and science of art’ in its all colors. School’s foyers and corridors were decorated with the magnificent display of mosaic lanterns, glass paintings, wall hangings with the archaic patterns inspired by the Mogul architect and designs, mirror work and Aboriginal art.

The classrooms were adorned with the kaleidoscope of science projects, showcasing the hands-on learning display of some of the difficult concepts like Biomes, Astronomy, Water Cycle, Ecosystem, Energy Conservation and Features of Human Body. Among the highly fascinated presentations were the display of STEM education through robots, remote controlled cars, production of hydroelectricity, the concept of optical illusions and chemical magic.

The visitors were awestruck to behold the dynamic creativity in forming beautiful chandeliers, decorative photo frames, stationery and jewelry containers by improvising the used materials; delineating the 3 Rs’ idea of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

The added attraction was the aromatic, traditionally spiced and mouthwatering food kiosks; including biryani, haleem, paani puri, samosas, dahi bhalley and kulfi, complemented with the melodies of the famous national song, Dil Dil Pakistan. — SG
