JEDDAH
— The Pakistan Repatriation Council ( PRC ) held the 78th Pakistan Day function at Mehran restaurant Azizia. It was presided by renowned Saudi intellectual, scholar and ex-diplomat Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdi. Chief Guest was Kashmiri leader Mohammad Raja Zareen Khan.

Dr. Al-Ghamdi, while congratulating Pakistanis on this occasion, said, “When he was 13 years old and got sick he was recommended to visit the Pakistani Embassy in Jeddah where Pakistani doctors were offering treatment, which impressed him. Later he visited and stayed in Karachi for several years for education and diplomatic services.”

He said, “Pakistan is dear to him and considers it as his second home.”

In the 11th Century a renowned Arab scholar Ahmed Baiyroni, who lived in India, wrote in one of his remarkable book: Critical Studies of India “ in which he revealed that Hindus and Muslims are two distinct nations and cannot live together so that was the seed of two nation theory or Pakistan, which came into reality on 23rd March 1940 in Lahore when thousands of Muslims under their unique and popular leadeu Mohammad Ali Jinnah and his associate gathered in which Chief Minister Bengal (Now Bangladesh) Abu Qasim Fazal-ul-Haq presented a resolution for creation of separate homeland for Indian Muslim. Which was unanimously approved. They committed that nothing less than Pakistan will be accepted.”

Jinnah’s great charismatic leadership made Pakistan within seven years, he said, adding, “Pakistan is the pride of Muslim world and every one prays for its solidarity, peace and integrity. According to the two-nation theory Kashmir should have been part of Pakistan; however due to Indo-British conspiracy it was annexed to India. Under the UN resolution a plebiscite is pending to determine the decision of Kashmir — whether they want to live with India of Pakistan. For permanent peace in the subcontinent Kashmir issue must be resolved soon.”

He reminded, “Pakistan has to take care of its patriotic citizens languishing in Bangladesh since 1971. There is no justification to leave them unattended. It is the primary responsibility of Pakistan to issue Pakistani passports and arrange their repatriation and settle them in Pakistan. In this regard, PRC’s proposal can be implemented to avoid financial burden on the national economy.”

Chief Guest Raja Mohammed Zareen Khan said paid rich tribute to Quaid-e-Azam. He said Kashmiri leaders also extended full support to Quadi-e-Azam in the movement of Pakistan. He said true Kashmiri leaders like Syed Ali Gilani, Asia Andrabi and others want Kashmir’s affiliation to Pakistan.

Dr. Tanweer Zaman, director and founder of Institute of Saudi Arabian Studies, gave its details, and said the purpose of the institute is to highlight Saudi Arabia’s vision of 2030.

Hamid Islam Khan, deputy convener, reiterated PRC’s mission that Pakistan will not be complete without return of stranded Pakistanis and annexation of Kashmir.

Syed Neaz Ahmed shed light on pre-1940s history in which, he said, when Congress took power they tried to deny Muslims government jobs; education and other privileges, which led to a insecure future. Even the judiciary failed to give them justice; rather it strengthened the killers that led to massacre of Bengal; Bihar; Sindh in which both sides lost lives, but the Hindu leadership did not realize the situation. So Jinnah accepted the idea of Allama Iqbal for a Islamic state. He appealed to all political parties to include in their agenda issues of Kashmir and stranded Pakistanis.

Mohammad Ashfaq Badayouni said, “In today’s culture the opportunist and leaders of vested interest are highlighted and awarded while true and patriotic Pakistanis are ignored which gives negative impression about the nation. We must change it to give true guidance to new generation about Pakistan.”

Mohammad Amanatullah, Shahid Nayeem Shamsuddin Altaf, Mohammad Akram Agha and Shaikh Mohammad Luqman also addressed the gathering.

Syed Ehsanul Haque, convener PRC, thanked Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdi and guests. He said Pakistan was created on the basis of two-nation theory, so Muslims from India migrated to East Pakistan and not to Bangladesh, which was established on the basis of Bengali language after splitting from an Islamic state. He said on that basis Kashmir should be part of Pakistan and stranded Pakistanis in Bangladesh should be brought back to country.

He presented following resolutions for approval to audience.

n We urge president Mamnoon Hussain for urgent action for the repatriation and rehabilitation of stranded Pakistanis. To overcome the paucity of fund, we suggest to implement PRC proposal of “settlement of stranded Pakistanis on self finance basis“. Pakistani High Commissioner at Dhaka should be assigned to take care of food, health, life and security of quarter million Pakistanis stranded in Bangladesh. OIC should include in its agenda the issue of settlement of stranded Pakistanis. Pakistan govt. should use OIC, UNO, USA and superpowers to influence India to ensure plebiscite in Kashmir.

n We also condemn atrocities on Muslims in Rakhine; Syria; Sri Lanka and urge OIC to take serious action to protect them.

Earlier, the function started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by Qari Abdul Majeed Zamurrad Khan Saifi presented Naat and a poem on the struggle of Pakistan.
