RIYADH — Over 50 international speakers from across the world will participate in the 1st Saudi Conference for Plastic Surgery and Restoration to be held at Crowne Plaza Hotel here from April 13 to 16.

The international speakers include top class cosmetic doctors and leading surgeons in the field and professors from countries such as Canada, America, Europe, along with Saudi professors from universities and distinguished consultants and specialists apart from new doctors.

They will present in-depth research papers in the conference. There will be meetings and live discussions during workshops that run on the concurrently on the sidelines of the conference.

Besides, the conference will focus on the integration of cosmetic care by holding a special session on nursing and ways to take care of wounds and burns, he said adding the event will open doors for Saudi doctors to study new world of medicine and its efficacy in treating the patients with quick results.

The first of its kind conference in the Kingdom will serve as the meeting point for physicians from Saudi Arabia, Gulf and Middle Eastern countries to witness everything new in scientific research, medical devices and medicines, he said.

Dr. Jamal Juma, President of the Conference and President of American College of Surgeons in the Kingdom said that plastic surgery for the restoration of face and hand of accident victims and or congenital malformations and breast reconstruction of cancer patients after recovery have attained an important place in the Middle East as elsewhere in the world.

“We wish to host such a leading conference in the Middle East and welcomes heads of plastic surgery societies from Canada, Norway, Romania, Turkey, the Gulf States, Jordan and Egypt to come and participate,” he said.

Dr. Fuad Hashim, Consultant, Plastic Surgery, President of the World Society of Plastic Surgery in the Kingdom and Chairman of Scientific Committee, said the aim of this conference is to establish a link between specialists engaged in cosmetology, restoration system and plastic surgery.

He highlighted the role of the Saudi doctors, who are actively participating in such conference besides focusing their attention on resident doctors in training and development of surgical skills. “The Kingdom has been proactive in complex cosmetic medicine at a large extent and in the field of effective medical conferences,” he said.

The Kingdom is organizing the conference in partnership with the International Society of Plastic Surgery in the United States. — SG
