RIYADH — The US visit by Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and defense minister, has been vitally important, asserted Dr. Waleed Al-Samaani, justice minister and chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council.

Al-Sama’ani attributed the importance of the visit to the economic agreements and political cooperation that will add more regional and international weight to Saudi Arabia, as well as to ongoing international cooperation in combatting ideological and practical terrorism and extremism on which certain terror-sponsoring countries thrive.

“The Crown Prince has made a fruitful trip as directed by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman aiming to implement several concepts and visions that His Highness has been keen to turn into a tangible reality. This benefits Saudi Arabia and enhances its international standing as one of the most important Middle Eastern countries, with its political and economic weight, its service of the two holy mosques, and the huge ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030 requiring diversification of partnerships,” Al-Samaani said.

“The visit was also aimed at enhancing the Kingdom’s arsenal, increasing the trade volume, and discussing further commercial deals between the two friendly countries, creating more jobs for both nations,” he said.

The visit also highlighted the successes of the National Transformation Program (NTP) 2020 and Saudi Vision 2030, and their impact on the economic, social and developmental levels, the minister added.

“It has also brought good results in an important project by signing an MoU for the solar power plan 2030, the largest of its kind in the world,” A-Samaani added.

The visit is aligned with the efforts of King Salman and the Crown Prince to consolidate multifaceted partnerships with the US, given the Kingdom’s strong 70-year relationship with the friendly country, he added. — SG
