NRIF Riyadh conducts seminar on overcoming relocation stress

RIYADH
— The world is full of opportunities wherever you go hence there is no need to worry when one’s life gets uprooted from one place, for relocation is the part of our life and we have gone through various relocations from our birth. Have confidence and faith in Allah and connect with Him, was the underlying message relayed at the NRI Forum Riyadh-organized seminar “Overcoming Relocation Stress” at Paradise Hotel here.

Addressing the gathering, keynote speaker Dr. Poorni Sudhakar, expert psychologist and Master NLP, advised the audience to accept relocation as new opportunity as there are many opportunities in all the fields all over the world. She explained in detail various types of stress and explained the many ways available to overcome it.

She also advised to have ‘confidence in yourself and don’t be swayed or attracted to negative advices’. Highlighting the current situation in Saudi Arabia where expats face the prospects of relocating after losing their jobs or relocating soon in order to avoid a divided family life, Dr. Poorni said, “We may not get the lifestyles which we are used to in the Kingdom, but we should accept this challenge and opportunity.”

She advised the parents who are planning relocation to be very careful with their children, as it is very difficult for them to accept the relocation, and explain to them the positives of the shift. She advised all to set proper goals and make effective planning while relocating.

Guest Speaker Eng. Farhan Ahmed Hashmi advised all to always think positively for it is a new beginning and new life, and new challenges need to be overcome with new and positive approach. He said that stress is related to pressure and defined stress simply stating, “resources are less and pressure is high then this situation is called stress”.

He said that there is good stress and bad stress, and everyone should welcome good stress. As long as your stress is good your performance is good. It always motivates one in achieving success. He explained in detail the causes of stress. He said that stress is not a disease but long-term stress leads to various diseases.

Chief Guest Dr. Hifzur Rahman Azmi, first secretary, at the Indian Embassy, congratulated NRIF and appreciated it for conducting an event, which is timely and necessary. He also appreciated both the speakers and enlightened the audience with his own experiences.

On this occasion, Rahman presented a memorial plaque to Mohsin Ali for his outstanding services in media and NRIF presented plaques to Hifzur Rahman and other speakers.

Arshad Qazi conducted the proceedings. Dr. Anwar Kursheed, vice president, welcomed the gathering and Dr. Sayeed Mohiuddin, president, gave the brief introduction of NRIF. Sanjay Mahat proposed vote of thanks and earlier all the guests on the dias received flower bouquets.

Earlier Azeemuddin Ahmed Qureshi recited the verses of Holy Qur’an and their meaning. A large number of Indian Diaspora attended the seminar applauded the topic. This seminar was sponsored by World Trade Center, Noida and Smart Media.
