Makkah Emir OKs merging of economic forums under one umbrella

MAKKAH — The Adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Province Prince Khaled Al-Faisal approved the recommendations made by the committee formed from the governorate and the Jeddah, Makkah and Taif chambers by merging all the economic forums, including Jeddah Economic Forum, under the umbrella of the Area Economic Forum titled "From vision to reality...invested in Makkah".

It will be held from May 6-7 (Shaaban 20-21) in Jeddah, and organized by the Emirate of the region in cooperation with the Jeddah Chamber, in coordination with the Chambers of Makkah and Taif, Makkah daily reported.

Under the umbrella forum, all economic forums and meetings will be held at a time when the region is rich in competitive environment of economic, human and geographic assets that makes it attractive for investment and enables it to contribute effectively to the achievement of the objectives of the Vision 2030.

Through the building of partnerships between the public and private sectors, the forum brings together the most prominent economy experts from the Kingdom and all over the world to present their views and experiences in a number of forum sessions devoted to topics that are commensurate with the objectives of Vision 2030.

The forum will also promote cooperation, coordination and integration between the various sectors of the government in the region to contribute effectively and under the guidance of the governor of the region.
