EPCA-SCC T20 Challenge Cup kicks off

— The EPCA T20 Challenge Cup 2017-18, sponsored by Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC) and organized by Eastern Province Cricket Association (EPCA), began here recently. Forty-three teams are participating in the SCC T20 Challenge Cup which is divided into 3 groups as Premier Division with 12 teams, Prime Division consisting of 12 teams and First Division with 19 teams.

Premier Division

Al-Naimi CC edged Karachi Strikers CC by 1 run. Batting first, ALNCC recorded 208 in 20 overs. Falak scored 79 off 44 and Iftikhar scored 71 off 36. Shahid grabbed 4 wickets. In reply, KSCC managed 207. Ijaz Sahi hit a brilliant 86 off 52 and Shoaib remained unbeaten on 84 off 48. Naveed took 1 wicket.

Honda CC won against Pak Saudi CC by 6 wickets. Batting first, PSCC was restricted to 148. Farid made 59 off 37. Zain picked up 3-15 in 4 overs. In reply, HCC chased the target in 17.4 overs. Afaq scored 48 off 33 and Kashif 37 not out off 26.

Sikander Bhai XI CC defeated FMS Hamza Khan XI CC by 24 runs. Batting first, SBXCC posted 250. Ahmed Rauf belted 57 off 28 and Abdul Naheed 56 off 25. Ilyas grabbed 2 wickets. In reply, FHKXCC managed 226. Zeshan Butt made 43 off 21. Nazim and Naheed claimed 2 wickets each.

In another Match, Pan Gulf CC beat Marooj Rawan by 78 runs. Batting first, PGCC posted a huge total of 260. Fine batting by Noman Zahid produced 112 off 56 and Mohsin hit 60 off 27. In reply, MRCC was bundled out for 181. Majid blasted 66 off 30. Mateen grabbed 3 wickets.

Prime Division

On Dot Freight CC won against Enerco CC by 6 wickets. Batting first, Enerco tallied 175. Tanzil scored 48 off 40. Said and Parvez grabbed 2 wickets each. In reply, ODFCC chased the target in 18 overs. Liyakath made 50 off 32 and Salman remained unbeaten on 29 off 19.

Tamimi CC outplayed Emerald Ashes CC by 7 wickets. Batting first. ERACC managed 69. Kamran Nazir grabbed 4 wickets and Asad Raja 3. In reply, TCC chased the target in 7 overs. Aqeel hit 41 off 24. Afsal took 3 wickets.

In another match, Bin Delamah Yorkers CC defeated Team SSQ CC by 9 wickets. Batting first, TSSQ scored 176 of 20 overs. Frasat hit 66 off 38. Kannan and Waseem claimed 2 wickets each. In reply, BDYCC chased the target in 15 overs. Renjith blasted a magnificent 106 off 39 with 7 towering sixes.

Eastern Arabia KLV CC won against Pak Shaheen CC by 3 wickets. PASCC recorded 187. Atiq belted 89 off 54. Sajid and Muzair claimed 2 wickets each. In reply, EAKCC chased the target in 18 overs. Niyaz scored 59 off 42 and Surjit 47 off 18. Shamas grabbed 4 wickets.
