‘FOTO’ organizes farewell for Afroz

— A grand farewell party was organized for Maulana Mohd Naveed Afroz by Federation of Telangana Organizations (FOTO) recently here.

The ‘FOTO’, an umbrella group of 14-organization from Telangana, acknowledged the services of the founder and president of the Alumni old boys association of Jame-Nizamia Naveed Afroz’s in the farewell event.

FOTO includes Khake-Taiba Trust, Urdu Academy, Alumni of old boys association of Jame-Nizamia, Bazm-e-Ittihad, Noor Educational and Welfare Society, Telangana NRIs Forum, Telangana Welfare Foundation, Deccan NRIs, Urdu Gulban and Telangana United Forum

Speaking on the occasion, Asim uddin Ansari praised Afroz for his calm demeanor. He said, “Naveed Afroz always kept his patience and tolerance in every circumstances.”

Abdul Razzaq, president Deccan NRI, said, “His services in holy land are unforgettable”, while Mahmood Misri, vice president Telangana NRI Forum, said that he created a good bond between youth and Urdu language and Hyderabadi tradition.

Convener of the program Maulana Khalid Hussain Madni said, “His long social and literary services can be collected and presented in a shape of book.”

Ahmed Abdul Hakeem, rx-president and Trustee KTT, said, “Naveed always joined people of Jeddah on Islamic grounds”. And Sheik Ibrahim from Urdu Academy shed light on his literary services. Mahmood Balsharaf and Osman Bin Mahfouz also acknowledge his services.

Yousufuddin Amjad from Bazm e Ittehad lauded Naveed Afroz for his arrangements of Islamic summer course while Siadat Ali Khan from Telangana Welfare Forum called him as an Islamic scholar and a great poet.

Dr. Ashfaq Manyar said he had developed a great way to train youth.

Maulana Nizamuddin Ghouri, the new president for the Alumni of Jamia Nizamia in Jeddah, said, ‘”Naveed Afroz was an image of simplicity and humbleness while he was here. I have learned a lot of things from him during the different events he organized.”

Naveed Afroz also addressed the gathering and thanked Almighty Allah for providing him with a chance to serve people and all speakers for their constant support.

The chief guest of the event Maulana Moazam Pasha expressed his best wishes for Afroz’s future and concluded the event with a supplication.

Idris Faridi, who called him as a symbol of Hyderabadi culture, proposed vote of thanks.

Maulana Syed Imaduddin Ahmed Qadri Moazzam Pasha presided over the event while Mohd Liaqat Ali Khan compered it by welcoming each speaker with different couplets from Urdu poetry.

Earlier the program commenced with the recitation of some verses of Holy Qur’an by Syed Obaidullah Hashmi followed by a Naat from Syed Khalid Hussain Madni.
