Saudis received SR9,939 as average monthly salary in 2017

— The average monthly salary of Saudis dropped by one percent from SR10,012 in 2016 to SR9,939 in the fourth and final quarter of 2017, according to a statistical report issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GaStat).

The report said the average monthly salary of expatriates in the same period was SR3,674, down by one percent from SR3,727 in the final quarter of 2016.

The average monthly salary of Saudi men was SR10,160 while that of Saudi women was SR8,995.

The average monthly salary of all employed people in the Kingdom was SR6,093 in 2017.

The GaStat report said the average monthly salary of Saudis in the government sector was SR10,735 and that of expats in the government sector was SR8,827.

The average monthly salary of Saudis in the private sector was SR7,570 as against SR3,812 for non-Saudis.

Saudis in the age group of 50-54 years received SR13,487, the highest average monthly paycheck as against SR5,891 for non-Saudis who were 65 years of age or more.

Comparing the average monthly wages of Saudis with workers in the West in 2018, the report said the average monthly payment of workers in the US was SR12,750 while workers in Britain received an average monthly salary of SR11,250.
