Ramadan floodlit cricket in Riyadh

RIYADH — Royal Academy of Cricket has decided to organize Ramadan cricket tournament under floodlights from May 18.

This will be the third edition of the event where 7 teams are competing on a round robin basis with top 2 qualifying for the final on June 8.

The league matches will be off 6 overs and the final will be of 12 overs. The tournament will be played on matting wicket with white balls and color kits.

According to the organizer of the tourney, Aasif Sheikh, the winner will be awarded a cash prize of SR3,000 and the runner-up SR2,000 along with many other prizes.

Royal Academy of Cricket is working on the development of teenage cricketers in the age group of 7 to 15. Royal Academy plans to form U16 and U19 teams in future.
