MAKKAH
— The Committee for Property Registration Errors, which is formed by the ministries of Justice and Municipal Affairs and Rural Affairs, revealed that it had completed the rectification of 256 requests related to property registration errors from investors who objected to transactions conducted at the public notary.

The committee announced the launch of a website to receive complaints from investors about errors of notaries or municipalities to make the processes of filing complaints and resolving them easier.

The joint website, which has been launched under “https://www.mulkia.gov.sa”, has two main functions: one for raising objection to property registration errors and the other for follow-ups.

Filing an objection to electronic property registration error includes six steps: verifying the property number, complainant’s data, address and details of the complaint, attachments, acknowledgment, and undertaking, and then presenting the complaint number.

The Ministry of Justice has introduced several programs and procedures to improve the competitiveness of the investment environment and to boost the performance of the private sector. This raised the Kingdom’s ranking in the registration index, which is mainly related to publishing a clear and binding mechanism for the objection procedures and connecting that to complaints at the specialized court.

The Committee for Property Registration Errors is headed by Sheikh Ayman Bin Nasser Al-Abbad and consists of members of the ministries of Justice and Municipal and Rural Affairs, and is directly linked to the minister of justice.

The committee shall, after receiving the complaints, investigate the existing issue of the transaction and shall have the right to address the concerned ministry or its subsidiary to clarify its contents and to submit the necessary documents.

If the committee fails to resolve the complaint and the complainant wishes to file a lawsuit, his claim will be filed directly with the competent court.

If the committee concludes that there is no convincing reason for rectification, the committee shall submit a monthly report to the minister of justice on the requests received and completed transactions.

The Committee for Property Registration Errors was formed based on the recommendation of the Executive Committee to improve the performance of the private sector “Tayseer”, which was established by a decision of Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, chairman of the Council of Economic Affairs.
