Boy Scouts step up volunteer activities at KAIA

JEDDAH
— Volunteers of Jeddah Education Scouts are stepping up their efforts to distribute more than 4,500 iftar meals and more than 500 water bottles to serve more than 5,000 pilgrims and visitors arriving daily at King Abdulaziz International Airport.

Jeddah Education Scouts consist of 60 scouts and eight leading scouts launched an initiative of distributing iftar meals to 30,000 people during the holy month of Ramadan.

The assistant director of education department in Jeddah, Yahya Al-Qahtani, said this generous humanitarian initiative was launched by the Emir of Makkah. The project is under the direction and support of Director General of Education in Jeddah Abdullah Al-Thaqafi to promote the spirit of volunteerism, to reflect a bright image of Saudi boys and to highlight the humanitarian role of Boy Scouts.

Director of Student Activities at the Jeddah Education Department Awad Al-Otaibi said the Jeddah Education Scout regularly participates in a number of voluntary and humanitarian initiatives at the Haj Terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport to serve the guests of Allah coming to perform Umrah or Haj.
