RIYADH – Several Riyadh residents expressed appreciation for the efforts exerted by Riyadh Mayoralty in organizing the Eid Al-Fitr celebrations. They said they were impressed by the variety of activities across the city; in almost all the districts. This enabled the residents to enjoy the programs and even participate in them, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted them as saying on Sunday.

The Eid Al-Fitr activities in Riyadh, exceeding 200, were held at 38 locations. They catered to the interests of all segments of the society including families, women, children and the youth.

Abdulrahman Al-Sadhan said: “The Riyadh Mayoralty exerted great efforts in organizing and managing the activities. This was evident in the distinctive schedule of events, which took into consideration all segments of the society. The variety of activities gave the residents many options, for all members of the society. The capital is distinctive in that it includes a wide spectrum of the Saudi society. There are citizens from all regions of Saudi Arabia.”

Hamad Al-Shuway’ir: “The diversity of events broadened the segments participating in them and created a different atmosphere for children. This gave the Eid a magnificent flavor. The distribution of events across Riyadh’s districts was distinctive from the aspect of easy accessibility to the locations and availability of signboards guiding the citizens to them. Holding the mayoralty’s Eid activities in all the districts enabled Riyadh residents to enjoy and even participate in them.”

Similarly, Dr. Said Al-Shihri, another Riyadh resident, expressed his appreciation for the mayoralty’s efforts in supporting the youths’ talents. The youth presented distinctive shows. Including this category of the society is a splendid act, as the mayoralty’s events have become a platform to enable the talented youth to make a debut.”

Dr. Al-Shihri expressed his great admiration for the street arts activities, presented in several districts. He said that such a step opens the way for talented people to participate in various national and social events.

He added that women’s activities were of great interest to families, especially plays like “Banat al-social” (female volunteers) presented in several universities and schools. These plays presented objective messages.

Meanwhile, Faris Al-Rabiah said he was impressed by the air shows, which attracted many of the residents. He also praised the play titled “Al-Qaryah Al-Maghdoorah” (The Betrayed Village), which was shown for the first time this year.
