Winner of Drones Challenge shares heartwarming moment with mother

— As soon as he won the first place of Drones Challenge, Mubarak Al-Jamily found his mom for a touching celebration.

Coming all the way from Hafar Al-Batin, Al-Jamily was able to bag the first prize of SR10,000 in the national drone challenge.

In a joyful spirit and tears in his eyes, Al-Jamily said as he received the prize: "All praise is to Allah, I won this valuable championship and dedicate it to my mother who stood by me during my challenging days and insisted to come all the way with me from Hafr Al-Batin to be with me."

After observing the touching moment between the winner and his mother, a Saudi businessman who was among attendees, gave away SR100,000 to the winner and SR50,000 to his mother.

The Drone Challenge, which is run by the Saudi Federation for Cyber Security and Programming (SAFCSP), is the biggest swing event that has taken place yet to bring the sport to the mainstream and it comes as part the Cyber Tent in King Abdullah Sports City.

SAFCSP is a national institution under the umbrella of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, which seeks to build national and professional capabilities in the fields of cyber security and programming in line with the established and internationally recognized practices and standards, to expedite the ascent of Saudi Arabia to the ranks of developed countries in the domain of technology innovation.
