Abu Dhabi tourism team holds workshops in KSA to woo more Saudi tourists

JEDDAH — More than 47,000 Saudis visited Abu Dhabi in the first quarter of 2018, according to the statistics revealed during the media workshop that was hosted by The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi).

The workshop that took place on Wednesday in Jeddah highlighted the offers of the hotels and attractions and the major shows and events during the Abu Dhabi summer season that will be held from June 21 and will continue until Aug,18.

This workshop took place in three cities in the Kingdom – Dammam, Riyadh, and Jeddah – to introduce the new activities and summer offers for Abu Dhabi that Saudis can enjoy in 2018. The event presented the old and new places that tourists and Saudi families can entertain and educate themselves including, the Louvre museums and the The Founder’s Memorial.

The Founder’s Memorial, which was opened in the end of April to the public, is a special learn about Sheikh Zayed through art, landscape, words, stories and multimedia experiences.

During the event that took place in Galleria Hotel Jeddah, Warner Bros opening t was announced that will take place on July,25. It was mentioned that it will feature 29 rides and attractions in six immersive lands, which will include DC’s Metropolis and Gotham City, as well as Cartoon Junction, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch and Warner Bros Plaza.

Al-Dhafra Festivals was one of the major events that DCT Abu Dhabi representative talked about during the workshop. This festival is an annual event and it will take place in December 2018.

According to Abu Dhabi website, this event presents a series of heritage events, including a camel beauty contest, saluki (greyhound), falcon and date packaging competitions, milky camel contest as well as Nabati poetry, photography and cooking competitions. There will also be a traditional market for the UAE's heritage industries with more than 180 specialized shops.
