RIYADH — The Egyptian Embassy here hosted the 66th Egyptian anniversary of 1952 revolution at Egyptian Ambassador residence last week.

Egypt’s Ambassador Nasser Hamdy received Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulrahman, deputy of Riyadh region princes, diplomats and ambassadors of Arab, Islamic and foreign countries, many prominent Saudi figures, Egyptian community and media representatives.

In his speech Hamdy confirmed the strong historical bilateral Egyptian-Saudi relationships.

“Sixty-six years ago, the glorious July revolution was a turning point in the modern history of Egypt, and an expression of our people’s aspiration for independence, freedom and national sovereignty. It redefined Egyptian foreign policy and its vital circles, represented in the Arab, Africana and Islamic circles.”

“The same march is still being completed by the Egyptian state under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, despite the internal challenges that the country is facing, firmly. Egypt is also seeking to strengthen its relations with these different circles of its foreign policy, as a pillar of growth and development for the benefit of all parties.”

Hamdy praised the brotherly relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, which enjoy continuous prosperity under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and said: “We are confident that the leaders of both countries are the safety valve of the Arab region against both internal and external threats. The unity of the two countries is ultimately for the benefit of the Arab and Islamic nations.”

In this regard, Hamdy pointed out that the first official foreign visit of Crown Prince Muhammed Bin Salman was to Egypt in March last year. The visit resulted in signing economic agreements and protocols of cooperation that aimed at consolidating the partnership between the two brotherly countries for the benefit of the Egyptian and Saudi peoples.
