RIYADH — Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh has recently welcomed Saudi Chef Waleed Obaid to its proficient culinary team. Chef Waleed, with his repertoire of experience and skills will ensure the intricacies of our rich local cuisine is presented to perfection.
Chef Waleed discovered his passion for cooking when he was 16 years old. He started cooking with his mother to support the household, as he was the eldest of his siblings. He enjoyed cooking daily and looked forward to learn more recipes from his mother every time. At the age of 25, Chef Waleed joined the Military and was assigned as the Senior Chef at the camp. His extraordinary skills were recognized by friends, family and everyone that got the chance to try his food.
Chef Waleed said “my mother is my inspiration and my continuous motivation and support. She acknowledges my talent and encourages me to continue learning and presenting my work at every possible opportunity.”
With the support of his family, Chef Waleed opened his own kiosk at Half Moon beach in Dammam. His kiosk became go-to destination for authentic Saudi delicacies. He received orders from all over the region and neighbouring cities as well. Soon after, Chef Waleed started working at the Royal palace. He was known as the Master Chef of “Ouzi”. His Ouzi is known for its unique blend of flavors and perfected texture.
Describing his new appointment at Four Seasons, Chef Waleed said “I am very happy to join Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh, it is definitely a new journey for me and I look forward to taking the authentic taste of Saudi to International heights.” — SG
