JEDDAH — A five-year-old boy was electrocuted while playing with an electric switchboard near a mosque in Al-Waziriyah district of Jeddah.

The boy suffered from second and third degree burns and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital.

While expressing condolences to the boy's family, the Saudi Electricity Company warned against tampering with electric switchboards and devices.

The company has launched a new service that enables the public to report unsafe electric installations directly to its offices. — SG
