— The Nuzha Industrial Estate will be vacated to make way for the Basmat Jeddah Park project on the southern side of the new airport.

A directive to this effect has already been issued by Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal.

The Nuzha area currently houses five industrial estates which will make way for a 2 square kilometer multipurpose facility.

The Basmat Jeddah Park will be spread on an area of 600,000 square meters. It will have five pillars representing the five pillars of Islam. The pillars will have laser beams reaching a height of 19 meters.

Two large monuments highlighting the word “Jeddah” in English and Arabic will be built.

More than 20,000 trees and 75 palm trees will be planted. An area of 176,000 square meters will be covered with natural and synthetic grass.

During a meeting in Jeddah, Prince Khaled was briefed on the various stages of the park project.

He stressed the aesthetic value of the park project which is linked to the new Jeddah airport.
