RIYADH — Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Haia Bint Abdulaziz Al-Awad launched on Sunday the 4th edition of “Ambassadors of Operation Decisive Storm” project, which aims to honor the wives and children of Saudi soldiers who were martyred or wounded while serving on the Kingdom's southern border.

The families of the war victims in the border regions of Najran and Jazan were also honored.

The ceremony, which was held at King Abdulaziz Historical Center in Riyadh, witnessed the attendance of Acting Director General of the Department of Education in the province, Abdullah Bin Saad Al-Ghannam, a number of leading educationists and guests from the security and military sectors.

In a speech on the occasion, Al-Awad said: “It's now been a full four years since the start of the liberation war in Yemen, which was a source of pride for our wise and rational leadership. The sons and daughters of martyrs and the victims will always be at the heart of the leaderships' concern and will receive great care and attention.”

She continued: "The sons and daughters of the martyrs are the sons of Saudi Arabia, who are taught courage, sacrifice and values so as to take their homeland into new heights and ensure its security and stability.”

Al-Awad added that as part of its responsibility toward these heroes, martyrs and wounded soldiers, the Ministry of Education has launched several initiatives, including the "Ambassadors of Operation Decisive Storm", aimed at students and children of martyrs in order to strengthen the religious identity and values of national belonging.

"We believe Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman will safeguard our country's security and stability,” she said.

Al-Awad thanked the director general of education in Riyadh, his deputies and the administration staff for hosting the children as ambassadors of the Decisive Storm in "the general departments of education in Riyadh, Madinah, Tabuk, Al-Baha and Hafr Al-Batin governorates."

Al-Ghannam said: "The project aims at providing psychological support to the students and children of the martyrs and those who protect our homeland. Today, in its fourth phase the initiative promotes the skills and values through various activities derived from the Saudi culture.”
