RIYADH
— Expatriates rejoiced over the overwhelming success of an overseas Pakistani Ch. Noor ul Hassan Tanveer in the recent general elections on the ticket of Pakistan Muslim League (N).

Ch. Noor ul Hassan Tanveer was a former resident of Riyadh and currently is residing in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He is a staunch worker and chief organizer of PML (N) for the Gulf region. He contested for the National Assembly seat in the general elections from the constituency of NA-169 Bahawalnagar IV in southern Punjab region and emerged successful with a huge majority against his close rival Ejaz ul Haq, son of the former president of Pakistan late Gen. Zia ul Haq.

Senior Vice President of PML (N) Riyadh region Sheikh Saeed hosted a party on behalf of PML(N) over the brilliant success of Tanveer at the Pak House restaurant in Riyadh that was highly attended by the PML(N) executive members and media personals.

Speaking on the occasion, Saeed congratulated Tanveer and conveyed the party supporters happiness over his success. “Tanveer is the voice of overseas Pakistanis. He contested for the first time and was successful with an outstanding result that showed his mature political vision and the confidence of peoples on our party and the leadership,” he said.

President PML(N) Riyadh region Dr. Saeed Ahmed Waince, while voicing concerns on the overall results, too congratulated Tanveer on his success. “PML-N has its strong roots and a huge votebank in Pakistan that cannot be easily overturned by anyone therefore we have serious reservations over the results especially on the polling process as the form-45 was not shared with the polling agents of PML-N and we consider it as a blatant violation of public’s mandate. I congratulate Tanveer for his great victory in the election. He emerged from the workers and now he is all set to represent us and our party in the National Aassembly,” Saeed added.

The executive committee of PML-N said, “We stand with our party, our President Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and the leadership at this crucial phase of time. The cases against Ex. PM Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, his family members and our party workers are just established to keep them away from the electoral process. However, we congratulate all PML-N’s successful candidates especially Tanveer on his brilliant success and wish him all the best as the member of the National Assembly of Pakistan. We are looking forward to welcome Tanveer in Riyadh.”

Those who attended the executive meeting included Bashir Ahmed Chaudhary, Muhammad Asghar Chishty, Amin Tajir, Dr. Mahmood Bajwa, Mian Imran Jajvi, Ch. Sajjad Ali, Syed Farman Ali, Ch. Akhter Ali and others. Others present were Javed Iqbal, Zakkaullah Mohsin, Abid Shamoon and Ilyas Rahim.
