Favorites reach semifinals

RIYADH — Quarterfinals were played in RCA’s 100 Ball Summer Cup.

Pak Shaheen defeated Al-Rifai AHCC by 6 wickets. Al-Rifai AHCC, batting first, scored 194-4 in the stipulated 100 balls. Awais hit 76 and Ramazan 52. Inam took 3 wickets. Pak Shaheen chased the target comfortably, thanks to yet another hundred by Abdul Waheed who remained unbeaten on 131 off just 46 balls. Other major contribution came from Malik Fahad (26). Ramazan picked up 3 wickets. Man of the Match: Abdul Waheed.

KFSH Blues beat Pakistan XI by 5 wickets. Put in to bat first, Pakistan XI was all out for 133. Mateen Abbasi was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets. KFSH Blues got to the target in 13.5 overs. Khurram Baig scored 53 off 34 balls and Nasir Abbasi blasted 27 off 9 balls. Man of the Match: Mateen Abbasi.

Fonte Star CC got better of Sinmar CC by 60 runs. Fonte Star CC, batting first, posted 180-5. Muzaffar Majeed scored 70 off 32 balls and Safdar added 61 off 42 balls. Sardar Ali took 2 wickets. Sinmar CC was all out for 120. Karthik Nair and Hakeem Libas added 22 each. Muzaffar Majeed, Arif, Rizwan and Mushtaq got 2 wickets each. Man of the Match: Muzaffar Majeed.

In the last quarterfinal, Al-Harbi CC beat White Star CC by 1 run in a thrilling finish. Al-Harbi CC, batting first, was all out for 148. Samiullah scored 37, Shahid Khan 31 and Shahid Islam 21. Syed Ishfaq took 4 wickets. White Star CC fought hard but fell short of target by just 1 run. Ashiq top scored with 65 off 33 balls. Irfan made 26. Fazal Elahi took 4 wickets, while Fazal Wakeel and Amjad Ali claimed 2 wickets each. Man of the Match: Fazal Elahi.

In the semifinals, Pak Shaheen CC will play Fonte Star CC and KFSH Blues CC will meet Al-Harbi CC. — SG
