SGS and Harakia serve 175 pilgrims with special needs

SAUDI Ground Services Company (SGS), the leading national provider of ground services to the aviation sector in the Kingdom, has agreed with the Adults Disabilities Association Harakia to facilitate the travel process of pilgrims with special needs from Harakia‘s Hajj campaign. The agreement consists of SGS to assist and facilitate the process of 175 special needs pilgrims, who will be travelling on four different flights from King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh to King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah on 18 Aug., and will return to Riyadh on 14 Dhu al-Hijjah (25 Aug 2018) after performing Haj.

The agreement was made during the recent visit of Hassan Al Meshakhi, Harakia Administrative Affairs Director, and Hamoud Al Hamoud, Harakia Director of Public Relations & Media, Hamad Al Qahtani, Harakia Procurement Manager to Ali Al Shammari, SGS Director SBU RUH at KKIA and Abdulrahman Al Zaid, Riyadh Station Manager, Saudi Airlines, and Abdullah Saif Al Qahtani, Special Needs Services Agent.

Abdullah Al Qahtani has held several sessions at the headquarter of Harakia to educate the pilgrims with the regulations of traveling from Airports and regulations of Airlines.

Omar Najjar, SGS CEO. "Such agreements help to service a very important segment in our society and we always insure that we provide the highest levels of service to them, within all the 27 airports we operate at in the Kingdom." He added.

Mohammed Bin Saad Al Hamali, General Manager of Harakia, assured that: "SGS provides excellent services to people with special needs, previous experiences with its services at KKIA (Riyadh) and at KAIA (Jeddah), left a positive impact on us, which led to this visit and eventually to this agreement."

Where Al Shammari, SGS Director SBU RUH added: "We will coordinate with all airports’ sectors to facilitate and provide all the needed services to the pilgrims of Harakia. Staring from receiving them and receiving all equipment they might have, such as wheelchairs, and finishing all their travel procedures. We will also coordinate with GACA, Saudia Airlines, and all other related parties to bring the aircraft on which they will travel closer to the gates. We will also coordinate with the arrival station by sending telegrams to insure they would receive all the proper services with the highest standards." — SG
