King, Crown Prince express sorrow over Kerala flood

JEDDAH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has sent a cable of condolences to President Ram Nath Kovind of India, expressing his deep sorrow over the death of several people in the floods that has devastated the southern Indian state of Kerala.

“We came to know about the floods in Kerala that resulted in the deaths and displacement of several people. On behalf of ourselves as well as the people and government of Saudi Arabia, we express our deepest sorrow and offer condolences to you as well as to the families of the deceased and to the people of India,” the King said in the cable carried by the Saudi Press Agency.

Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, also sent a similar cable of condolences to President Kovind. — SG/SPA
