ACL wins 1st SCC Tri-Series title

JEDDAH — Aseer Cricket League (ACL) won the 1st Saudi Cricket Centrr (SCC) Tri-Series Championship, beating Najran Cricket Association (NCA) by 19 runs. This championship was organized by South Province Cricket Association (SPCA) at ACL Um e Saboor Ground Friday.

NCA won the toss and elected to bowl. ACL scored 205-3 in the allotted 20 Overs.

All-rounder Zaigham Abbas remained not out on 110 off 66 balls with 6 sixes and 11 fours. Mohammed Adnan made 56 off 31 balls with 1 six and 8 fours. Abdul Wahab took 1 wicket in 4 overs conceding 33 runs.

In reply, NCA managed 186-6. Muhammad Adil top scored with 89 off 49 balls which included 2 sixes and 12 fours. Habib Ur Rehman hit 29 off 18 balls with 1 six and 4 fours. Tahir Rasheed took 2 wickets in 4 overs conceding 41 runs.

Zaigham Abbas was declared the Man of the Match. He was also adjudged the Man of the Tournament for his 180 runs and 3 wickets in 3 matches.

Zaigham Abbas declared Best batsman of the tournament for his 180 runs with the strike rate of 185.57 which include 1 century and 1 half century, overall boundaries belongs to him 9 sixes and 20 fours in 3 matches.

Waqas Fida was the Best Bowler of the tournament for his 5 wickets with an economy rate of 7.83 in overall 12 overs in 3 matches.

Kashif Mirza (SCC), Fezan Reyaz (JRCA) and Mohammad Afzal (ACL) were the umpires.

The prize distribution ceremony was held at the ground. Syed Qasim Ali Naqvi, Executive Advisor of SCC, was the chief guest along with guests of honor Al-Sheikh Muhammad Saeed Abu Melha and Abu Melha family (owner of ACL grounds), Mohammed S. Anjum, sales & marketing manager of Arabian Cooperative Company (ACC), and Mohammad Afzal Butt, chairman of ACL.

Naqvi congratulated the captain and players of winning team and praised the efforts of the ACL management for organizing this tournament well. He presented the winner’s trophy to ACL captain Farasat Afridi.

Al-Sheikh Muhammad and Anjum also appreciated ACL’s efforts.

ACL also presented a special prize to the batsman who hit the ACL sign board. Super Sixes Competition also was held during the match between one player from ACL XI and one from NCA XI. The winner was also awarded by ACL. ACL also presented cash prize of SR50 to spectators who took catches.
