Digital transformation increases productivity: Ministry of Justice

The Ministry of Justice has said that digital transformation plans inside the ministry have increased the level of productivity in a working hour by 40% during the past two years.

The ministry has made a lot of progress toward implementing initiatives for its national transformation program 2020 which developed the performance of judicial services and entities.

Deputy Minister for Planning, Development and Information, Waleed Al-Roshood, said that development projects contributed to improving productivity levels inside the ministry and improved the performance of human capital. He emphasized the importance of business intelligence platform which measures performance of judicial entities instantly using advanced indicators and analysis. This platform is one of the most importance initiatives for “digital transformation” inside the ministry.

According to business intelligence platform; the average level of productivity in one working hour increased by 40% in the past 10 months, compared to the same period two years ago.

In addition to this, the platform revealed that the average number of judicial cases being performed in one hour reached 2,090 cases this year, while two years ago, they were at 1,368 cases.

The average daily judicial cases taking place two years ago were 8,213, while this year, the daily average cases are 12,545.

Enforcement courts were able to raise their hourly productivity by 87% this year (835 cases), compared to two years ago (441 cases).

Al-Roshood said that digital transformation initiatives contributed to this huge progress as procedures are becoming fully digitized, and online legal services are made available.

Similarly, the latest initiative by the ministry to allow property ownership transfer to be performed online through the ministry’s portal helped show an increase in levels of performance through the platform.
