NC Fantastic Bowlers claim Team of Week honors

— NC Fantastic Bowlers got to seal the deal after attempts to close one the past weeks as they won their maiden Vertex Solutions Team of the Week victory during the ninth session in the OFBC (Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club) Friday Afternoon League Season 9 at the Iceland Bowling Center.

Cashing in a fast start to win the first two games, NC Fantastic went on to post the top tally of 38 points at the end of the race for honors on a day when Crime Busters reclaimed the league lead from defending champion Casadores II.

Crime Busters returned the second-best of 33 points that gave them back the lead in the tournament, as erstwhile leader Casadores II could only muster 18 points in an indifferent performance.

Fresh off its perfect-40 showing, RTJ Baguio Transient House sustained its form to hit the third-best total of 32 points, well in front of SGH Bowling Group 23 points and D’ Splinters 22.5.

Early leader Spareshots were a point ahead of Casadores on 19. Forever Living Dynamics made 12.5 points and Spare Busters and Forever Living both have 11 points.

Sharmaine Patayan made it a Fantastic double when she won the ladies Bowler of the Week award, with Jhun Ejanda of Crime Busters claiming his share of the individual awards on the men’s side with his effort of 600.

Sharmaine’s 557 series stood out and bettered his dad’s captain’s total of 532. Aisah Silabay added 542, Dawood Antonio contributed 494 and Jess David came through with 472.

Vilma Miranda and co-captain Samuel Tesfai tossed in 541 and 522 to back up Ejanda at Crime Busters who also drew 472 from Ryan Latigo and 360 from Lito delos Reyes.

The duo of Cesar Pagtalunan and Rico Bulalayao shot 572 and 532 at the helm of RTJ. Darlene Bulalayao missed 500-series by a few poins on 493 with skipper Joel Nidoy on 476 and Jack Jarin on 398.

Over at SGH a pair of lady bowlers, Princess Etracila and Irene Huit led the way on 537 and 521 that went with the 461 by Shaid Salvador, 388 by Dan Garret Mojares and 153-154 by Gamal Matanog and 155 by Usop Abinal.

Jose Antonio Bayag Jr. and Jon Belo were the main men for Spareshots on 513 and 502. The other scorers were the husband-and-wife tandem of Alex Duma 492 and Carmen Duma 443 and Sergio Modar 362.

Imelda Flores was on 508 in charge at Splinters with Randy del Remedios on 492, Amy Mercado on 490, Richard Junio on 474 and Joseph Catulong on 422 in the five-man team league event sponsored by Vertex Solutions headed by Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Harthi and Dia Jamal Eddin.
