Riyadh — Some members of the Shoura Council on Wednesday criticized the ineffective functioning of the Education Evaluation Commission.

During a regular session of the Council, the members said some evaluations by the Commission about some professions like medical specialization are not up to the standard.

Ahmed Al-Aswad, a Shoura member, underlined the need for enhancing cooperation between the Commission and private agencies for proper evaluation of these professions.

Maj. Gen. Abdul Hadi Al-Amri, another Shoura member, said the Commission could not properly evaluate educational standard.

The Shoura Council also asked the Saudi Red Crescent Authority to make plans to enhance awareness and provide training across the Kingdom.

It called for implementing international standards while hiring staff.

Prince Khaled Al-Saud, a Shoura member, called for improving the air ambulance service in view of its effectiveness in rescuing the injured.

Maj. Gen. Mohsin Al-Shaiani, another member, called for intensifying efforts to strengthen cooperation between educational and charity organizations to train citizens and expats in all kinds of first aid services.
