MADINAH — The unified office for students' services at the Islamic University of Madinah has started receiving the new scholarship students from 131 countries prior to the beginning their academic year.
The unified office consists of 10 departments that work under one roof to provide the newcomers with consummate services.
According to a university source, the office will complete the procedures of admission for each student in less than an hour.
The university's department of public relations will receive the students at Prince Muhammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport with gifts and then transport them to the unified office, where their documents will be scrutinized. Then they will attend an interview and their specialty will be decided according to the educational level.
After the admission procedures are completed, the students will go to the deanship of students, which will take their passports and issue them with the university identity card. The students will also receive pocket money to pay for basic necessities and urgent requirements.
The students will also be provided with smart cards to pay for food at restaurants.
The students will be medically examined and a special file will be opened for each of them. The medical tests are aimed at ensuring that the students are physically fit.
Following the admission procedures, the students will be taken to their hostel rooms and will be given directions to use the hostel facilities.
The students will be taken on a tour of the university premises and informed about the rules and regulations that they should follow during the entire years of study.
A number of students expressed their appreciation to Saudi Arabia for giving them the opportunity to study at the Islamic University on scholarships.
