46% faculty members with PhDs in Saudi Arabia's universities are Saudi

The Ministry of Education has reported that 54 percent of PhD holders employed in Saudi universities as faculty members are non-Saudis.

A survey published on the ministry’s website showed that in 30 Saudi universities there are 23,137 non-Saudi faculty members with PhDs while the number of Saudi faculty members with PhDs is 10,650, or 46 percent.

Bisha University has a total of 382 faculty members with PhDs and 342 of them are non-Saudi. The percentage of Saudization in the university is 12 percent. Jouf University has 100 Saudi faculty members with PhDs while it employs 562 non-Saudis with PhDs as faculty members. The percentage of Saudization in the university is 17 percent.

The Northern Borders University has 70 Saudi and 505 non-Saudi faculty members with PhDs. The Saudization rate in the university is 13 percent.

Prince Sattam University has 165 Saudi and 912 non-Saudi faculty members with PhDs. The percentage of Saudization in the university is 18 percent.

Jazan University has 149 Saudi and 792 non-Saudi faculty members with PhDs. The percentage of Saudization is 19 percent. Hafr Al-Batin University has 41 Saudi and 185 non-Saudi faculty members with PhDs. Its percentage of Saudization is 22 percent.

Hail University has 136 Saudi and 580 non-Saudi faculty members with PhDs. Its percentage of Saudization is 23 percent. Baha University has 167 Saudi and 342 non-Saudi faculty members with PhDs. The percentage of Saudization is 12 percent.

Qassim University has 456 Saudi and 1,341 non-Saudi faculty members with PhDs. The percentage of Saudization in the university is 34 percent. King Khalid University has 468 Saudi and 1,619 non-Saudi faculty members with PhDs. The percentage of Saudization in the university is 29 percent.

Tabuk University has 167 Saudi and 638 non-Saudi faculty members with PhDs and has a Saudization percentage of 34 percent. Najran University has 229 Saudi and 659 non-Saudi faculty members with PhDs. The percentage of Saudization in the university is 38 percent.

Taif University had 411 Saudi and 1,194 non-Saudi faculty members with PhDs. The percentage of Saudization in the university is 35 percent. Shaqraa University has 189 Saudi and 416 non-Saudi faculty members with PhDs. The percentage of Saudization is 45 percent.

King Faisal University has 292 Saudi and 751 non-Saudi faculty members with PhDs with a Saudization rate of 39 percent.

Princess Noura University comes on top among Saudi universities in the Saudization rate with about 57 percent. The university has 674 Saudi faculty members with PhDs while the number of non-Saudi faculty members with PhDs is only 295.
