Saudi Gazette report

Jeddah — The Kingdom is witnessing security, stability, prosperity, opulence and comfortable life thanks to the leadership since the era of the founder King the late King Abdul Aziz, said the Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh on Saturday on the eve of the 88th Saudi National Day.

He said the Kingdom has stood firm in the face of challenges and adversities. The Kingdom has made successes after successes in all fields despite huge challenges and wicked plots of the enemies of Islam, said Al-Asheikh, who is also the president of the Council of Senior Scholars and General President for Research and Ruling (Ifta).

“The military successes have been achieved by the Kingdom’s brave soldiers on the southern borders to help the Yemeni brethren against Houthi gangs who are traitors working in the interest of hostile agendas in favor of foreign quarters that harbor hatred and enmity against the Kingdom,” he added.

Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal said the Kingdom has accomplished a lot in 88 years. The march of progress and development is continuing, he said.

“Today the Kingdom is among the influential countries and has high status in the international community,” he added.

Shoura Council Chairman Sheikh Abdullah Al-Asheikh said the National Day gives an impetus to the current and future generations to safeguard national gains and resources and continue the march of progress the Kingdom is witnessing in all fields.

This is an occasion to renew loyalty to the leadership and stress the unity of ranks and social cohesion as well as reject all forms of extremism and discord.

Minister of Media Awwad Al-Awwad said the Kingdom today has a clear strategy for the future which is Vision 2030 and its programs. The Kingdom has already started benefiting from Vision 2030, he said.

The course of advancement is tangible thanks to mega strategic projects, international agreements, partnerships with strong countries, and investment entities, Awwad added.

He said today the Kingdom is an influential country supporting global peace. The Jeddah Peace Agreement signed recently by the president of Eritrea and prime minister of Ethiopia under the auspices of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman is an evidence of the Saudi policy supporting global security and peace. But this policy of peace has not stopped the Kingdom from fighting violence, terrorism and extremism.

Similar sentiments and feelings of pride and patriotism were expressed by emirs, deputy emirs of all regions of the Kingdom, ministers, officials and citizens.
