Saudi sports media pioneers honored

JEDDAH —
The Saudi Sports Media Federation has honored the pioneers of Saudi sports media, who have provided noble services to the Saudi, Asian and international media. The stalwarts are Mansour Al-Khudhairi, Ali Dawood, Muhammad Ramadan and Abdulaziz Al-Sharqi. The Federation presented them with an honorary life membership.

This ceremony was performed at the conclusion of the 21st AIPS ASIA Congress here in the presence of over 75 members representing sports media federations in the Asian continent and the world.

The program on the last day witnessed a review of the work reports and discussion on a number of topics. The meeting approved some recommendations referred by the executive office.

At the conclusion of the congress, the Saudi Sports Media Federation was honored as well as several participants. The flag of the 21st AIPS ASIA Congress was handed over to the executive office as the participants have yet to finalize the host country for the next congress.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) Gianni Merlo expressed happiness over the development and big strides made in sports in general and sports media in particular in the Kingdom. This was manifested in the smooth and superb conduct of the 21st Congress here.

Meantime, the chairman of the Asian Sports Media Federation Sattam Al-Sahli underlined the success of the Congress, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah.

“I extend my thanks to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Sports Authority (GSA) and Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee Turki Bin Abdul Mohsin Al-Asheikh. I also thank the officials of the Saudi federation for the magnificent organization of the Congress meetings, generosity and hospitality.”
