Darul Ilm Jeddah holds 22nd annual convocation

— Muslims should not only become doctors and engineers but also opt for careers in IPS, IAS and other civil and foreign services while focusing on religious education of their children, which is the most important need of the time, said Moulana Mohammed Abdul Salam recently at the Darbar Hall at Shadab restaurant.

Abdul Salam, advisor of Alumni and fans of Jamia Nizamia, Hyderabad, made this statement on this occasion of the 22nd Annual convocation ceremony of Darul Ilm Jeddah organized by the Bazm-e-Tulba-E-Qadeem Wa Muhibban-E-Jamia Nizamia (Alumni and fans of Jamia Nizamia, Hyderabad).

He threw light on religious education and thoughts and said it shapes one’s character. Our Prophet (pbuh) also stressed that the parents need to focus on their children’s overall education and provide them with religious education to build their morals and character and be a component of success in life.

Darul Ilm Jeddah is an affiliated educational institution of Jamia Nizamia, one of the oldest Islamic universities in Hyderabad, India.

The event was organized by the university’s alumni, Bazm-e-Tulba-E-Qadeem Wa Muhibban-E-Jamia Nizamia, which is also called as Old Boys Association and fans of Jamia Nizamia under the aegis of alumni new founder president Moulana Hafiz Mohammed Nizamuddin Ghouri.

Syed Jamal Qadri, president Urdu Academy, Jeddah, and president of the education committee of the alumni association, presided over the gathering. Maulana Mohammed Imaduddin Quadri and Mohammed Abdul Rab Hamed Quadri, vice president of the finance committee of the alumni association, were chief guests.

The program began with the recitation of verses of the Holy Qur’an by Qari Mir Barkat Ali, followed by a beautiful and heart-touching Naat by Hafiz Mohammed Saleem Qadri, joint secretary of the alumni association. Hafiz Syed Obaidullah Hashmi was the master of the ceremony. Students of class one and two recited a beautiful Hamd (praise to Almighty).

Moulana Hafiz Mohammed Nizamuddin Ghouri presented a brief introduction of Jamia Nizamia and the alumni association. Moulana Hafiz Mohammed Abdul Salam, vice president Bazm, delivered the welcome address.

Later Qari Mohammed Aijaz Sabri presented the annual educational report and said that this year 60 students received certificates and prizes in the 45 days short term summer course of the Darul Ilm under the supervision of Mohammed Muslahuddin Jawaid Sabri, vice president, education committee.

Shameem Kauser, chief patron Khakh-e-Taiba, and Aijaz Ahmed Khan, president of the pilgrims reception committee of the alumni association, also attended the occasion as guests of honor.

Moulana Hafiz Mohammed Nizamuddin Ghouri, president of the alumni association, said all the associated members of Darul Ilm are performing, with honestly and sincerity, services to Islam.

Ghouri said in his address that Darul Ilm is an affiliated school with Jamia Nizamia therefore, to obtain a certificate or degree from Darul Ilm is similar to obtaining a certificate from Jamia Nizamia.

In Tahfeez competition (Qur’an memorization), Mohammed Zeeshan Ali of class five, Junaid Ahmed Syed of class four, Sheikh Mohammed Hussain of class three, Syed Ammar Bukhari of class two and Mohammed Qutubuddin of class one won first prizes respectively.

In Qira’t competition (Qur’an recitation), Qari Mohammed Zeeshan Ali, In Seeratul Nabi (pbuh) and Fiqhai Masail, Mohammed Sufiyan Ali won first prizes.

In Tajweed, Syed Abdul Rahman Bukhari of class four, Emad Farooq Ahmed of class three and in Hadith Shareef, Sheikh Mohammed Hussain of class three, Mohammed Hidayatullah Khan of class two and Bilal Mirza Baig of class one won first prizes respectively.

In Supplications (Masnoon Dua), Mohammed Ghyasuddin of class two and Bilal Mirza Baig of class one won first prizes. In Islamic general knowledge (Deeniyat), Ryaan Mohammed Hassan of class two and Bilal Mirza Baig of class one won the first prizes respectively.

In Naat competition, Syed Mohammed Hassan, Urdu Speech competition, Junaid Ahmed Syed, English Speech competition, Siddiq Mohammed Ansari won first prizes respectively.

Syed Jamal Qadri, Syed Emaduddin Quadri, Mirza Mohammed Baig, Mohammed Ameenuddin Ansari, Siadat Ali Khan, Mahmood Misri, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Farooq Ahmed, Liakat Ali Khan, Nadeem Abdul Basith and Samih Farooqui were the distinguished guests who felicitated the winners by awarding certificates and degrees to the students, who passed the examinations from Darul Ilm, with their prizes respectively.

Other organizers of the event were Mohammed Masihuddin Kaleem Sabri, Abdul Rahman Baig, Syed Kaleem Quadri, Syed Kabeeruddin Owais Sabri, Abul Aali Shoeb, Mohammed Mubeen Sabri and Syed Saber Hussain Sabri were given appreciation awards. Mohammed Masihuddin Kaleem Sabri gave the vote of thanks.
