JEDDAH
— Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, will pay a two-day visit to Kuwait late this month and will review bilateral relations between the two countries, seek ways of enhancing them, and discuss the latest developments in the region.

Prince Muhammad had visited Kuwait three years ago and had met the Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah.

On the Saudi National Day, the government of Kuwait congratulated Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad and welcomed the Crown Prince’s upcoming visit to Kuwait during a Cabinet meeting.

“The visit is part of deep-rooted relations between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, and would be a great opportunity to exchange views over a host of issues of mutual interest, as well as further cementing cooperation at different levels,” said Deputy Premier and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh in a statement after the Cabinet meeting.

Prince Muhammad, in his two-day state visit, will hold a press conference on the Sept. 30, in the presence of Kuwaiti editors in chief. He will also meet senior Kuwaiti officials and hold talks with them on strengthening bilateral relations, in addition to latest regional developments during the visit.

In an earlier Arab Youth Survey 2018, the Arab and Gulf youth had overwhelmingly supported the reforms Prince Muhammad is spearheading and view him as a strong leader who will shape the region over the next decade.

Arab youth, particularly in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, expect the Crown Prince to have a bigger impact on the region over the next decade than any other Arab leader.

The Crown Prince’s visit could boost not only bilateral ties while also giving shape to the GCC states’ wide-ranging economic reform plans, central to which are privatization and diversification from their oil-base economies.
