CAIRO — A member of the Libyan National Popular Movement Dr. Asaad Al-Abbani blamed Qatar for the turmoil several Libyan cities are witnessing including the capital Tripoli.

Al-Abbani accused Qatar of extending its military and logistical support to dozens of terrorist outfits in Libya, particularly Ansar Al-Sharia, Libya Dawn Forces, Jaish Al-Qabail, Al-Bunyan Al-Marsous and Tripoli Revolutionaries, which are wreaking havoc in all Libyan cities.

He stressed that his country has hundreds of documents proving Doha’s involvement in supporting terror activities on Libyan soil.

In a statement to Okaz/Saudi Gazette, Al-Abbani added that Libya is capable of protecting its people and its land. It is working towards this with all bravery and ferocity in confronting the terrorist groups.

He stressed that Qatar is the main sponsor of terrorism in his country. He warned that Qatar would someday pay a heavy price for its support for terror.

Several arrested terrorists have confessed during investigations that they received financial and moral support from Qatar.

Al-Abbani also claimed that backed by Turkey, Qatar is thwarting all attempts to find a political solution to the Libyan crisis. He added that the Doha regime does not want political stability in Libya with an aim to control Libyan oil and gas, which is evident in its relentless attempts to grab the resources through smuggling mafias.

He added these terrorist outfits also pose a security threat to Egypt as they infiltrate the Egyptian territories and carry out acts of sabotage and destruction.

Al-Abbani also said Qatar is playing a sinister role in making Muslim Brotherhood members Libyan citizens so that they can reach power and gradually consolidate control over Libya.
