RIYADH --
Arab leaders and organizations expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, rejecting the malicious media campaign being perpetrated by the enemies of the Kingdom.

Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen said the Kingdom is a leader in peacemaking, combating terrorism and extremism, supporting development, stability and humanitarian action.

"The position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its centrality in international relations make it above suspicions," said Al-Othaimeen.

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) rejected any threats and attempts against Saudi Arabia or any member state of the organization, asserting that it stands with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all measures taken to protect its national reputation and security.

The Muslim World League (MWL) also condemned the attempts to target the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's international and Islamic leadership by threatening to impose economic sanctions, using political pressure and repeating false accusations. It stressed that the Kingdom's honorable history in the record of international peace and cooperation testifies to its pioneering status.

In a statement issued by the MWL, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Bin Abdulkarim Al-Isa, MWL secretary general and chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Organization of Muslim Scholars, affirmed that the Kingdom occupies a pioneering position by organizing dozens of international peace and security initiatives.

He affirmed full support of Islamic leaders around the world for the Kingdom against this misleading campaign.

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdul Latif Al-Zayani on Sunday condemned the media campaign against Saudi Arabia over the disappearance of Saudi citizen Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey.

GCC Secretary General said that what are being circulated in some Arab and international media are false accusations and claims that are not based on facts and are aimed at harming Saudi Arabia.

Al-Zayani said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that some media outlets violated honorable principles and codes and ignored professionalism and objectivity by disseminating lies and falsehoods for obvious political purposes.

He stressed that the Kingdom has always maintained its values, taking into account international regulations, conventions and norms.

Bahrain affirmed its “full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia against all those who attempt to undermine it or seek to harm it, stressing its strong rejection of those who attempt to harm its policy, position and sovereignty.”

The Bahraini Foreign Ministry said in a statement, “The Kingdom of Bahrain also commends the high position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as it is considered the basis for security and stability of the Arab and Islamic world.”

The UAE, Oman, Jordan, Palestine and Yemen also expressed their full solidarity with Saudi Arabia.

The Jordanian government also affirmed the Kingdom’s central role in consolidating security, stability and peace and enhancing economic cooperation both regionally and globally.

Media minister Jumana Ghunaimat said in a press statement on Sunday that Jordan stands with Saudi Arabia in the face of any targeted rumors and campaigns aimed without relying on facts.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his appreciation for the firm stance of the Kingdom.

Yemen said the Kingdom is “being subjected to malicious and prejudicial tendencies due to its honorable and honest positions with issues regarding the Arab and Islamic nation and its leading roles in regional and international stability,” reported Yemeni news agency Saba.

The Arab League rejected any threat to impose sanctions on the Kingdom, saying “it is totally unacceptable in the framework of relations between countries to threaten economic sanctions as a policy or instrument to achieve political or unilateral objectives.”
