GCC chief praises measures taken by Kingdom on Khashoggi's death

RIYADH — Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif Bin Rashid Al-Zayyani lauded here on Saturday the latest measures taken by Saudi Arabia in relation to the death of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Al-Zayyani described the measures as “firm, stressing the commitment of the Kingdom’s prudent leadership to place the facts clearly before the world, continue investigations in the case, take to task those involved in this regrettable incident and bring them to justice.”

“The Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has proved its keenness to reveal all the facts on the circumstances surrounding this regrettable incident, with full transparency. This emanates from its belief to bring about justice and enforce the law,” he said, lauding the related royal orders issued in this regard.

Al-Zayyani offered his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Jamal Khashoggi as well as the Saudi government and people on this grave incident. — SPA
