MADINAH —
The corpses of two infants were found in a medicine freezer at a private hospital in Madinah.

The Health Affairs Directorate in Madinah has begun an investigation into the incident, Al-Madina newspaper reported.

It said one of the corpses had been identified as a boy, who had a file in the hospital, but the identity of other is still unknown.

The Health Affairs was investigating the events that led to putting the corpses in the medicine freezer despite protocols strictly instructing otherwise. The corpses were wrapped in white cloth and put in a plastic bag before storing them in a regular freezer that was used by the hospital to store medicines. The staff members at the hospital have been questioned over the incident.

Madinah Health Affairs Directorate spokesman Hatim Samman said the authorities were investigating. The corpses have not been buried as they are needed to complete the investigation.
