Crown Prince chairs committee to restructure intelligence agency

RIYADH – Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, presided over the first meeting of the ministerial committee to restructure the Presidency of General Intelligence in Riyadh on Thursday.

The committee reviewed the reform plan including an assessment of the current situation in light of the best practices and identifying of gaps, especially with regard to the following elements: Organizational structure of the presidency; legal frameworks and the applicable regulations; and policies, procedures and governance.

The committee has adopted the necessary recommendations in this regard and will continue its meetings until the completion of its works. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman had issued orders on Oct. 20 for the formation of the ministerial committee headed by the Crown Prince to restructure the presidency. — SG/SPA
