Say ‘No’ to ‘Jealousy’

How do you feel when you think that your parents like your brother better than you? How do you feel when your best friend is talking to someone else or making new friends? Did you feel angry or frustrated when the new baby came in your family?

If you are fine with everything then it is amazing. However, if you feel frustrated, angry or suspicious that you are not getting the love you deserve and someone else is getting it; then you are ‘Jealous’.

Jealousy is mostly to do with competition. For example, sometimes you may be jealous of a brother or sister because you think your parents love him or her more than they love you. Or you may feel jealous about your friend and want to have all of his or her attention all of the time.

Know that this feeling is monstrous. It destroys the person who is jealous. It will bring extreme feelings of anger, hatred and rejection. You will feel like you are not wanted by anyone or you are just not good enough.

You have a new baby in the family, and you are feeling angry and acting as if you need more attention. How are you supposed to make a smart choice? Be helpful and play with the baby. You will have positive attention.

Another situation could be that your older sibling is allowed things which you are not. You’ll start thinking that everything is unfair and you’ll be angry. Try to learn from your sibling, talk to him and work together.

It could happen that your friend is not your friend anymore. You will feel hurt and angry. You can react positively by overcoming these feelings. Make new friends and learn from your mistakes. Forgive, forget and try to sort things.

Just know that even the most wonderful person goes through this feeling of Jealousy even if it is for a moment. You have to choose how to react towards it!

Do you want this monster to be a boss of yours, or you can trick this monster and make it run away. You can choose the negative or the positive response to a situation, and it is very normal if you go for the negative first. Talk to yourself and make smart choices.
